Laurenz V.

In 2004, three wine enthusiasts joined forces: Dieter Huebler, Franz Schweiger and Laurenz M. Moser V. The newly established company, Laurenz V. (Laurenz Five), was named after one of the founding partners, Laurenz Maria Moser the fifth, the grandson of legendary Austrian wine pioneer Lenz Moser lll. Laurenz V. pays respect to the legacy of Lenz Moser lll, or “Grandpa Grüner”, who almost single handedly helped Grüner Veltliner become Austria’s signature grape variety in the middle of the past century.

Laurenz V. produces an elegant, captivating style of Grüner Veltliner designed for international appeal and appropriate for diverse cuisines. The wines display brisk acidity, concentration of flavor, subtle spice notes, voluptuous texture and vibrant minerality. To that end, the winery grows and sources grapes from trusted growers in the Kamptal, Kremstal and the Weinviertel regions of lower Austria where Grüner Veltliner reaches optimal ripeness while retaining its trademark vivacity.

Laurenz V. has been instrumental in propelling Austrian Grüner Veltliner into the international spotlight. Laurenz V. wines are enjoyed in 45 countries around the world, and served in fine restaurants from Dublin to Dubai, Oslo, Shanghai, London and Los Angeles. The winery produces seven distinct proprietary Grüner Veltliners, four of which are currently available in the United States: Singing, Friendly, Forbidden and Charming.
