Floral and perfumed nose of violets, dried roses, raspberries, chocolate and dark cherries. Full-bodied, with muscular yet polished tannins. Compact.

A rare example of 100% Petit Verdot shows a fine example of how this grape now ripens more easily in an era of climate change. It is rich, seriously structured, balancing black fruits and juiciness. The wine is complex and rich, will be ready to drink from 2024.

The 2020 La Freynelle Petit Verdot has an exuberant bouquet of lively raspberry, cranberry and rose petal scents, veins of blue fruit emerging with aeration. The oak here is nicely integrated. The medium-bodied palate offers fine tannins and well-judged acidity. Smoother than its Cabernet Sauvignon counterpart with a gentle grip on the finish. This is another well-crafted varietal from Veronique Barthe.
