Tasting Notes
The Little Sheep of France Rosé is elegant, with notes of red summer berries and delicate floral notes. Smooth, and beautifully balanced with fruit-forward flavors and hints of grenadine that lead into a refreshing, enjoyable finish.
Description
The Little Sheep wines are among our most popular and we could not be more delighted with the results of the latest vintages. From Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay to Rosé and Pinot Noir, The Little Sheep wines are crafted from the world's top wine production regions. They are created in a spirit of delivering quality and value with a sense of exploration. Each wine represents an opportunity to discover something new and celebrate the beauty that nature provides.
Vineyard
These grapes were grown in ideal conditions with a mixture of clay, shale and gravel soils. The hot, windswept, semi-arid Mediterranean climate with its mild winters is perfectly suited to the ripening and healthy condition of the grapes while keeping all their fresh crispness thanks to the effects of altitude and of the sea which help to offset the heat of the summer.
Vinification
After the grapes are carefully selected, they are gently pressed. A controlled low-temperature fermentation is them carried out in stainless steel tanks with maximum protection from oxidation. The final wine is then rested before bottling.
Appellation
Rosé is one of the major wine trends of the 21st Century so far, no longer seen as a poor substitute to reds and whites. And there's plenty to discover in Languedoc rosé.
When the temperatures heat up most wine drinkers are more likely to reach for a bottle of rosé than a hearty red. Under the circumstances, it’s hardly surprising that the Languedoc, like Provence, has an established tradition of producing excellent rosé wines. With delicate aromatic and crisp fresh fruit notes, the Little Sheep is winner every time.
