A creamy and refined 2004 with a very reserved and tight palate of ultra fine tannins that lend the wine beautiful creaminess and finesse. Subtly floral, offering lightly cooked apples and lemons. Flavorful, yet always hiding behind the fine bubbles.

The 2004 Brut Cuvée Louise offers up delicate aromas of honeyed orchard fruit, flowers and caramel, followed by a medium to full-bodied palate that's crisp and incisive, with a tight-knit core, a pinpoint mousse and a moderately persistent finish. While the wine needs a little bottle age to open up, I was hoping for more concentration and mid-palate presence.

Sourced entierly from grand cru vineyards and aged for 10 years before disgorgement, this wine is beautifully mature. Richness comes from the ripe fruit rather than the dosage, balanced by tangy acidity and a toasty note. It is a finely poised and impressive wine that is ready to drink.

This firm version is well-meshed and balanced, offering flavors of poached apricot, chalky mineral and pastry dough. Lively, with a lacy mousse and a lightly spiced, crisp finish.

Made in tribute to Madame Louise Pommery, Cuvee Louise is made from fruit sourced from Grand Cru vineyards in Avize, Cramant and Ay. Each Cuvée Louise is made from a blend of the top-three Grands Crus in Champagne and the wine ages for at least 10 years in Pommery's underground cellars.
Since Cuvée Louise is characterised by low dosage by nature, the temptation was great to make the leap and turn it into a vintage without dosage and hence into a Brut Nature. This was particularly tempting for this vintage which by nature has a good constitution and hence a good presence on the nose and on the palate. Consequently, the estate decided to propose this Cuvée Louise under the denomination of “Brut Nature” to create an alternative to the traditional cuvée.
