Description

Pommery's top cuvee is world renowned for quality and prestige. A racy, classy blend, featuring soaring aromatics and flavors of flowers, nuts and pears. Elegant, silky textured and complex, save this outstanding bottle for a special occasion.

Made in tribute to Madame Louise Pommery, Cuvee Louise is made from fruit sourced from Grand Cru vineyards in Avize, Cramant and Ay. Each Cuvée Louise is made from a blend of the top-three Grands Crus in Champagne and the wine ages for at least 10 years in Pommery's underground cellars.

Since Cuvée Louise is characterised by low dosage by nature, the temptation was great to make the leap and turn it into a vintage without dosage and hence into a Brut Nature. This was particularly tempting for this vintage which by nature has a good constitution and hence a good presence on the nose and on the palate. Consequently, the estate decided to propose this Cuvée Louise under the denomination of “Brut Nature” to create an alternative to the traditional cuvée.

Estate

Pommery is a historic Champagne house located in Reims. They are the inventor of the Brut style of Champagne which is so popular today. The house was founded in 1858, primarily as a wool trading concern. On the death of her husband in 1860, Louise Pommery began to dedicate the company to Champagne production and it soon became one of the region's largest brands. She purchased 120 Roman-era limestone and chalk caves which formed 12 miles of cellars under the city of Reims which allowed storage of more than 20 million bottles. The brand is known for its freshness and finesse, epitomized by the range-topping Cuvée Louis.

Tasting notes

Bright and minerally, featuring smoke and pastry dough notes layered with lemon curd and pureed black currant details, riding the lively bead. Offers a creamy finish, with a lightly floral overtone.
