Tasting notes
Of colored Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot dense and very gentle give this La Parde de Haut-Bailly 2009 a harmonious structure. This is a fun wine with red fruit lovers and woody notes. Velvety tannins and fluxes will make very nice to enjoy in 2015.
The 2009 vintage
In 2009, climatology and conduct meticulous vineyard were particularly conducive to vegetative cycle of the vine and the ripening of the grapes. A relatively dry winter and cool temperatures delayed bud break of a fortnight. General bud occurred in late March for the Merlot and around April 15 for the Cabernet. In May, the vine known temperature differences, the warm periods are sometimes followed by a storm and falling temperatures. The Merlots and Cabernets have flourished all around May 30. Climatic conditions, characterized by hot, dry weather were ideal at this stage. The climate of the summer was ideal for ripening. Indeed, the vineyard has benefited from high temperatures and plenty of sunshine in July and August. The weather has continued in September, with an alternation of warm days and cool nights. The grapes and matured to perfection. These conditions have also fostered the concentration of aromas and accumulation of pigments. The grapes are sweet, colorful and fruity in the same proportions as in the great vintages.
