Blackcurrants, licorice, spearmint, rust and bark on the nose. It's medium- to full-bodied with firm, chewy tannins. Compact and flavorful, if a little rustic in tannin texture. Needs to soften.

A blend of 78% Merlot, 12% Cabernet Sauvignon and 10% Petit Verdot, the 2020 Ferran is aging for 12 months in French oak barrels, 30% new. The alcohol is 14%. Medium to deep garnet-purple in color, it features fragrant notes of kirsch, preserved plums, boysenberries and raspberry coulis, plus hints of spice cake, licorice and garrigue with a waft of cracked black pepper. The medium-bodied palate is elegant and spicy, offering a soft texture and seamless freshness, finishing savory.
