Black plums, blackcurrants, cloves, dried herbs and earth on the nose. It's medium-bodied with firm, grippy tannins. Structured with an austere finish. Will soften with a little bottle age.

Deep purple-black colored, the 2018 Les Trois Croix bursts from the glass with bold notions of stewed black cherries, prunes and blackberry preserves, plus hints of Chinese five spice, tree bark and black truffles with a waft of licorice. The rich, concentrated, full-bodied palate delivers mouth-coating black fruits with a velvety texture and just enough freshness, finishing with a spicy kick.

High-pitched, with chalk and lilac notes out front, followed by damson plum, bing cherry and red currant fruit flavors. Light singed-cedar accent peeks through on the finish. Merlot and Cabernet Franc.
