Redcurrant and sweet-berry aromas with flowers and tile. It's medium-to full-bodied with firm yet polished tannins and a juicy finish. Savory and lightly peppery at the end. Give the tannins time to soften.

The 2019 Clos Rene displays impressive clarity and terroir expression on a focused nose of vivid red berry fruit; black truffle and sage aromas come through with time. The palate is well balanced with a fleshy opening and then builds toward quite a substantial, complex, slightly savory and certainly peppery finish. Superb.

Deep garnet-purple colored, the 2019 Clos Rene charges out of the glass with gregarious scents of freshly crushed blackberries, plum preserves and wild blueberries with hints of hoisin, moss-covered tree bark and black truffles. Medium to full-bodied, the palate has bags of vivacity, with an interesting interplay of fresh, crunchy black fruit and blue fruit preserves. Framed by ripe rounded tannins and bold freshness, it finishes on a lingering peppery note.
