Blackberry and tar with some blueberry and violet undertones. Medium-bodied, refined and polished. Firm tannins at the end. Not at the 2019 level, but outstanding.

The 2020 Monbrison has a medium to deep garnet-purple color and subtle notes of kirsch, plum preserves and cassis, with supporting wafts of bay leaves, lavender and underbrush. The medium-bodied palate is soft and refreshing, offering a good amount of bright, lively red and black fruits, finishing with a skip in its step.

Already the fruits are showing a ripe, jammy character. With its open feel, even this young, it is likely to develop relatively quickly into an attractively fruity wine.
