Tasting notes
Rich and elegant, Ormes de Pez 2008 offers intense blackberry and spice notes with very fresh acidity. Lush and silky mouthfeel with long mineral finish.
Vintage
As with the 2007 vintage, we laboured under a rather wet and depressing summer sky, before once again the weather improved late in the year, saving the harvest.
The vintage in a nutshell:
- Early but irregular budbreak
- Cool and damp summer weather
- Miraculous recovery

Harvest
Harvest started on September 30th - 12 days later than in 2006 - and ended on October 17th.
The vineyard underwent much care and attention, especially vine canopy management: over 80% of the plots underwent a selective manual leaf thinning.
At around an average of 47 hl/ha, the yields at the Ormes de Pez were low.
It is noteworthy that this year for the first time we were equipped with a double filling line in the vat room. This enabled us to optimize the vatting according to the quality of the grapes, and to refine our plot selection.
