James Suckling 91pt

Juicy and delicious wine with plum and chocolate character. It's full-bodied yet has a round, soft texture. So delicious now.

Vinous Media 90pt

The 2005 Le Petit-Mouton is a pretty wine, but it is also ready to drink. In 2005, Le Petit-Mouton has a higher percentage of Franc in the blend, which comes through in its lighter structure and overall profile. Time in the glass brings out pretty notes of cedar, sweet pipe tobacco and mint. Any remaining bottles need to be finished.

Wine Advocate 91pt

The 2005 Le Petit Mouton has a very expressive, vivacious bouquet with dark cherries, tobacco and even a hint of violet plucked from Margaux. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannin, a little more structure than the 2010, supremely well detailed, but perhaps just missing the sustain of that aforementioned younger vintage. Still, this an extremely fine Le Petit Mouton drinking now and over the next 15-20 years.
