James Suckling 93pt

Sweet currant, berry and stone on the nose with some flowers. It's medium-to full-bodied with chewy tannins and savory and crushed-stone undertones. A little hard now. Needs time to soften and open.

Chateau Baret

Chateau Baret has been belonging to the Ballande family for nearly 200 years. Chateau Baret is located close to Bordeaux (7km) like Chateau Haut Brion and Chateau Pape Clement, in one of the best terroir of the prestigious Pessac Leognan appellation. The vineyard benefiting from being near the city area in a more temperate environment, harvests are among the earliest within the appellation although grapes are always perfectly mature whatever the weather conditions during summertime are. Chateau Baret produces great, elegant and aromatic white wines and ripe, red wines with a silky character and the typical red fruit aromas of the appellation.
