Composed of 35% Cabernet Sauvignon and 65% Merlot, the 2019 Clementin de Pape Clement was harvested from the 18th of September to the 11th of October. Ninety-three percent is aging in French oak barriques, 66% new, and 7% is aging in large foudres. Deep garnet-purple in color, the nose hits the ground running with exuberant plum preserves and baked cherries scents plus wafts of raspberry leaves, wild sage, damp soil and nutmeg. Medium-bodied, the palate has plenty of character and zing with a grainy texture, oodles of freshness and a mineral-tinged finish.
