James Suckling 97pt

Wow. This shows so much intensity, with black-olive, blackberry, meat and earth aromas. It's full-bodied and very layered with power and generosity, yet it's not overdone. Harkens back to the great vintages of the 1950s. 90% merlot and 10% cabernet franc.

Vinous Media 92pt

The 2019 Bonalgue has a fresh bouquet of blackberry, raspberry and light sous-bois aromas, hints of shaved truffle emerging with time. The palate is medium-bodied with sappy red fruit, quite sweet and concentrated, and almost viscous on the finish, which feels very persistent. A little heady in style, yet well crafted.

Wine Advocate 90pt

From a sandy, early-ripening site, the 2019 Bonalgue offers up aromas of plum preserve, kirsch, licorice and mocha. Full-bodied, velvety and fleshy, it's layered and succulent, with melting tannins and a round, extroverted profile. This isn't built for the long haul, but it will deliver plenty of near-term pleasure.
