James Suckling 92pt

A pretty Sauternes with sliced peach, pear and hints of apricot aromas and flavors , with hints of cream too. Medium to full body, sweet and fresh. A refined and layered style.

Wine Advocate 93pt

Tasted as part of a vertical held at the chateau. It is clear that the aromatics on the 2008 are a little simpler and more straightforward than the 2007 with honeysuckle, jasmine and mango scents emerging with time. The palate is ripe and precise on the entry with well-integrated oak that is in sync with the lemon curd and apricot fruit. There is a lovely sweetness on the finish with a hint of spice lingering in the mouth. As I wrote last year – sublime. Drink 2017-2030+

Wine Enthusiast 93pt

Firm, richly structured, powered through with botrytis, a dried apricot and peach character, which is tight, the acidity compensating with a great vivid character.

Wine Spectator 92pt

A ripe, flashy style, with layers of creamed peach, Jonagold apple, candied citrus peel and dried apricot, all stitched with lovely acacia honey and floral notes. This has power and purity. Drink now through 2022.

Tasting notes

A vintage defined first by a small harvest because we lose 50% of the harvest on the night of April 6th. The wine is typical, defined by a pure fruit and a very beautiful aromatic definition. There are touch of exotic fruits like mango, but also draws on the lemon confit. Floral nose of angelica dominates. We recognize also the peppermint character of Guiraud. On the palate the wine is clear, has a nice acidity, plays a perfect balance. It is a great Sauternes as we love produced!
