Description
Upon arrival at the winery, the grapes were cold soaked for seven days at 8°C to extract color and flavor from the skins. Temperature-controlled fermentation lasted 12 to 14 days with daily pumping over and punch downs. The wine was then aged in oak barrels for 13 months.
Tasting notes
This is a juicy wine, initially crisp then broadening out into ripe red fruits and some firm background tannins. It comes from the Côte Chalonnaise region, from an area known for accessible reds like this.
History
Château de Santenay is one of Burgundy’s largest wine domaines.
