Decanter 93pt

A fine and fruity champagne with a pretty blush pink colour and scented nose of sweet strawberries. The palate is succulent and juicy, mouthwatering, with a delicious redcurrant, raspberry and lemon citrus zing. The texture is smooth with persistent bubbles. This bottling is stored in the cellar for three years to develop its distinctive properties of balance, precision and elegance. Perfect as an aperitif.

Wine Spectator 91pt

Fresh and floral, this is almost zesty on the palate, with a fine and lively, lacy bead and well-meshed flavors of crushed raspberry, blanched almond, candied ginger and blood orange peel. Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier.

Decanter 90pt

Delicate red fruit aromatics lead to a palate of wild strawberry, maraschino cherry, rosewater, ground almond and clove. <br> Silver Medal 2024 Decanter World Wine Awards

by Decanter, 2024
James Suckling 92pt

A strikingly pale rose Champagne with a color reminiscent of the coolest still Provence rose wines. Overflowing with strawberry and raspberry aromas, very juicy and bright on the medium-bodied palate, the finish as charming as it is clean, thanks to the lively mousse. A very similar blend to the white Brut Royal, but with a dash of red wine added for color and extra body.

by James Suckling, 2022
Wine Enthusiast 90pt

A blend of the three main Champagne varieties, the result here- with a bit of red skin in the blend- is a pale rose. With just a touch of tannin to give structure and an edge of minerality, the bottling is young while balanced. It is fruity, red fruits in the background.

Description

Pommery’s delicately fruity Brut Rosé features distinctive, fuller notes that remain vibrant, fresh, and extremely fine. Its color comes from the Pinot Noir grape skins, which were left on for some of the winemaking process. These grapes were chosen on the vines for their level of maturity. It was aged in the cellar for three years to give it the singular characteristics of a Pommery Rosé.

This rosé is a faithful variation of classic Pommery Brut Royal created through the assembly of a red wine made with this in mind, and different wines vinified in white, within a greater proportion of Chardonnay.

The Pommery style developed by Thierry Gasco:
This fine and fruity champagne is distinguished by its fleshy note whole remaining lively, fresh and highly subtle. A very pale and delicate Rosé. A blend of rosé and Pinot Noir of Bouzy Grand Cru. Its color comes from Pinot Noir grapes, specially picked in the vineyards for their maturity, and slightly “fermented in their skins”. This champagne is stored in a cellar for three years to develop the distinctive properties of Pommery Rosé. The most romantic of Pommery wines. Cheerful during the day, romantic in the evening.

Food pairing

Exuding unusual charm, suitable as an aperitif, perfect with poultry and shellfish and with a dessert of red fruits.

Tasting notes

Delicate pale pink with slightly salmon tones. Fine and persistent bubbles. On the nose, small red berries suggest roundness and softness enhanced by a fine freshness in a world of distinction. A lightly creamy rosé, backed by lively acidity, this offers a smoky underpinning and open-knit flavors of dried cherry, ginger biscuit and kumquat. Very subtle rosé character: supple and finely robust with an appealing freshness and liveliness.
