Remarkable depth of mature aromas - tons of candied lemon peel, dried pear and brioche - plus wonderful textural richness on the palate make this stand out amongst the regular Brut NVs. Then comes the intense and very long, mineral finish to crown this prince of the category.

Bright yellow. Potent smoke-tinged orchard and pit fruit aromas are complemented by notes of tarragon, toasted brioche and pungent flowers. Fleshy and broad on entry, then tighter in the mid-palate, offering juicy pear and nectarine flavors and a bracing kick of chalky minerals. This rich yet lively Champagne finishes with very good thrust and length and repeating smokiness.

A rich style based on 40 percent reserve wines, this is substantial and elegant at once. Scents of orange blossoms and honey add to the wine’s impression of richness, while firm acidity keeps it structured. It has the fine abrasion of limestone to take on any roast shellfish.

Firm acidity defines this rich, well-integrated Champagne, with aromas and flavors of toasted brioche and grilled nut, white peach and cherry fruit, coffee liqueur and grated ginger. Like a cashmere scarf, there's a pleasing plushness to the mouthfeel, wrapping the structured frame in fine tailoring. Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Pinot Meunier. Disgorged 2022.

The NV Champagne Reserve Brut is sunny with aromas of golden orchard fruits, pineapple, yellow apple, and fresh pastry dough. The palate is matched with ripe peach, buttered orange citrus, and yellow flowers and is rounded, with a silky mouthfeel, although it is fully dry. Classic in style, it is charming and leans towards opulence.

The Charles Heidsieck NV Brut Reserve is elaborated with 150 different wines from most of 60 crus. This is a blend of 40% Pinot Noir, 40% Chardonnay and 20% Pinot Meunier with 50% of reserve wines. Disgorged in 2022 with a dosage of nine grams per liter, it has a delicate bouquet with aromas of orchard fruit, apricot, warm biscuits, praline, pastry and lemon hints. Medium to full-bodied, creamy and fleshy, the palate is charming with lively acids and a chalky finish. It's approachable now but also evolving with grace.

This nonvintage Champagne shows the hallmark of the producer. With its 50% reserve wines to bring out maturity, the wine is full of fruit, touched by toast. Drink this fine bottling now.

THE BRUT RÉSERVE EXPRESSES the very quintessence of the Charles Heidsieck style. Easily recognizable, this wine is the result of a unique blend that can be summarized in one equation: 60/40/10. 60: the number of hand-selected crus for a blend that is precise, crisp and tailor-made. Wines produced in the harvest year, a third for each variety (Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier), are vinified cru by cru, variety by variety, in stainless steel vats. 40: a high proportion of 40% reserve wines, equally divided between Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, ensure the fine complexity and voluptuousness of the Brut Réserve. 10: the reserve wines average age, extraordinary for Champagne. Sourced from the best crus produced in the greatest years, the wines placed in reserve are kept for between 5 and 15 years in stainless steel tanks. This maturing time is essential for their refinement and for the development of their aromatic range.
From amongst the 60 crus selected to create this iconic wine, three form the stylistic pillars of the Brut Réserve: Oger (Chardonnay grand cru from the Côte des Blancs) gives it fleshy, generous notes; Ambonnay (Pinot Noir grand cru from the Montagne de Reims) synonymous with strength, structure and fruitiness; and finally Verneuil (Meunier from the Marne Valley), ensures balance and unctuous texture. EXCEPTIONAL MATURATION. The Cellar Master adds an essential principle to the “Charles style”: the dimension of Time - his “fourth grape variety” - that is taken far beyond the 15-month norm of the region.
