I always love this cuvee, and the 2022 Chateauneuf Du Pape is an exceedingly elegant, Burgundian, complex beauty offering the ripe, perfumed aromatics of the vintage while staying fresh, focused, and lively on the palate. It has a floral, pretty, balanced style that will deliver ample pleasure in its youth yet will evolve for 10-12+ years if well stored.

A robust, toasty and structured red with notes of sweet berries, charred bark and roasted meat. Full-bodied with firm tannins. Vivid core of fruit at the center with a firm development on the finish. Driven and solid. Try after 2026.

The 2022 Chateauneuf-du-Pape Tradition comes in at 15.6% alcohol, more than one percent above the level reached in 2021. Aged for eight months in a combination of foudres (30%), stainless steel (30%) and concrete tanks (40%), the 2022 displays vivid garrigue, strawberry, raspberry and licorice aromas. Framed by soft tannins and refreshing acidity, the 2022 balances the elevated alcohol remarkably well and checks out with a bright finish.

The 2022 Chateauneuf du Pape from Domaine du Pere Caboche evokes a fresh, gourmand bouquet of dark cherries, flowers and ripe red berries. Medium-bodied, delicate and sweet, it's layered and round with a juicy core of fruit and a penetrating, long finish. This blend of 80% Grenache Noir, 15% Syrah and 5% Mourvedre, all partly destemmed and matured in a combination of concrete tanks (40%), foudres (30%) and stainless steel (30%) for eight months, is a classic in the making.
