This has a charming, cooling menthol note at its heart, alongside the juicy berries. There's zesty acidity, and small, fine tannins. It has a good sense of precision and energy, a dart of a Chateauneuf, with a persistent mineral finish. A good, classically styled wine with no excess weight, acidity or oak.

Ripe black cherries, pepper, sappy garrigue, and subtle marine and seaweed-like nuances all define the 2024 Chateauneuf Du Pape, which is based on 80% Grenache, 15% Syrah, and 5% Mourvedre and aged eight months in a mix of foudre, stainless steel tanks, and concrete. It's medium-bodied, nicely concentrated, and has ripe tannins, solid mid-palate density, and outstanding length.
