James Suckling 90pt

A succulent white, minerally and vivid. On the nose it shows notes of yellow plums, fresh herbs and crushed stones with some mild spices. It's medium-bodied with a fresh and lively character throughout. Delicious finish. From organically grown grapes. No sulfites added.

by James Suckling, 2024

Tasting notes

Ripe apple, pear, and quince notes by the nose with a touch of hibiscus on the palate. Petit Sauvage is mouth filling and displays aromas of fresh fruits and walnuts. The finish is lingering with a touch of eucalyptus in the end. Perfect to be enjoyed with grilled seabass, fried shrimp, or even roasted cod.

Description

Petit Sauvage Blanc is an exciting new natural and certified vegan wine made from Souvignier Gris, an extraordinary varietal with a strong resistance to vine diseases. As a result, this bright and fresh wine is made without the addition of copper and sulfur spreads in the vineyard. Less treatments result in a much smaller carbon footprint and a sustainable approach, to benefit the planet!

Petit Sauvage is also made without the addition of sulfites in the wine-making process. The estate believes in vinification without intervention is the purest representation of the local terroir. At bottling, the winemakers add a touch of carbonic gas to preserve the wines and allow them to have aging potential.

The bottles and packaging are all eco-conscious and locally sourced. From the lightweight bottle made in Albi, Roussillon made corks, natural wax to replace tin foil capsule and natural linen and hemp made label labels.
