James Suckling 98
Ripe black cherries, wild blackberries, blackcurrants, nutmeg, licorice, mahogany, musk and some dried thyme on the nose. It's full-bodied and polished with intense blue and black-fruit flavors, wonderfully balanced with wood, spice and smoky notes. Velvety, integrated tannins. Such focus and precision. From biodynamically grown grapes with Demeter certification. Already stunning and hard to resist now, but better in a couple of years.

Vinous Media 96
The 2018 Suisassi (Syrah) is another exceptional wine in this range. Dark and racy, the 2018 offers up copious blue/blackish fruit, lavender, menthol and chocolate. There's real depth and density here, but not the heaviness of the past. Once again, Luca D'Attoma and Elena Celli crafted a unique and totally distinctive wine. Superb.

Wine Advocate 96
One of the icons of the Tuscan coast, this wine is a pioneer in organic and biodynamic farming, especially in this neck of the woods. The Duemani 2018 Syrah Suisassi is beautifully generous and full-bodied. The wine delivers uninterrupted waves of black and purple fruit, all followed up by spice, baker's chocolate and softly cured tobacco. As is the case with Luca D'Attoma's Cabernet Franc Duemani that I also tasted as an unfinished wine, I am pleased to say that these final results more than delivered on my expectations. This is mostly thanks to the wine's balance and power.

Technical Details
Description
The Suisassi is produced from 100% Syrah and represents Elena’s vision of their small patch of Syrah. This tiny bottling rarely exceeds 4,000 bottles but is one of the most important 100% Syrah wines in the world. An elegant, bold, and spicy interpretation with fresh clear dark fruit and potent brambly gamy notes. Biodynamic Demeter
Estate
The name DueMani represents two hands from two people, Elena Celli and Luca D’Attoma. Elena was born and lives in Lucca. She studied marketing at Polimoda in Florence and worked in the fashion industry for many years. Luca was born in Borgo San Lorenzo, outside of Florence. A famous winemaker, he founded a winemaking and viticultural consulting company in 1991 called Wine Evolution Consulting (W.E.C.) through which he collaborates with wineries from various regions of Italy as well as Spain and Switzerland for the production of high quality wines. Luca’s most known credit is probably consulting for the Super Tuscan powerhouse Le Macchiole for over 25 years. During his time at Le Macchiole he created two of Italy’s most famous wines the Messorio Merlot and Paleo Syrah. He also credits Tua Rita’s Redigaffi as one of his creations as well.
Tasting notes
Balanced with structure and intensity. It explodes on the nose with black berry fruit, thyme, sweet spices and liquorice. The body is full and rich on the palate and expresses great flavor, freshness and silky tannins.
