Reviews
Robert Parker 92
Here's a bold and thickly layered expression from southern Tuscany. The 2013 Brunello di Montalcino Riserva Vigna Manapetra opens to dark fruit and blackberry followed by spice, leather and cured tobacco. This medium to full-bodied Riserva exhibits dense tannic structure, but it also has enough fiber and fruit succulence to soften up any hard edges.

Vinous Media 92
Moderately saturated, bright red. Pungently floral notes complement strawberry, flint, peppery herbs and underbrush. Then rounder and smoother in the mouth, especially with extended aeration, with penetrating, zingy acidity that beautifully frames and intensifies the strawberry and flinty flavors. Nicely savory on the persistent finish.

Wine Spectator 93
There is sufficient meat on the bones of his red, along with cherry, wild herb, loamy earth and tobacco flavors. Firm, vibrant and balanced, with a long, intense aftertaste of fruit, earth and mineral.

Estate
Purchased by Mr. Mauro Pacini in 1983 and upgraded with the most advanced winemaking installations, Fattoria la Lecciaia is a wine estate that combines a young, dynamic approach to the wine business, while strictly adhering to the antique traditions of Brunello di Montalcino. Located in “località Vallafrico” and surrounded by the vineyards of some of the most iconic estates of the area, the estate is in the center of the original micro-terroir where the world-famous Brunello di Montalcino was first produced.
Tasting Notes
The celebrated single-vineyard Manapetra is a fabulous effort in the exciting vintage. Showing a wonderful sensory profile, it releases lovely aromas of raspberries, currants and cherries complimented by fresh ginger and lemon peel. The palate is full-bodied with gorgeous tannins that are beautifully integrated. It continues to display excellent balance and it heads into the finish full of energy and character. Fantastic now, but should also evolve gracefully over the next decade and beyond.
