Reviews
Wine Spectator 91
Fruit-forward and expressive, with generous well-spiced boysenberry and blueberry fruit flavors up front, followed by savory notes of eucalyptus, Earl Grey, loamy earth and smoke on the midpalate and finish. Fresh and floral, this is thick in texture but well-knit and balanced, with taut tannins firming the zesty finish.

Deep garnet to the eye, this wine has a nose of blackberry, fennel seed and chocolatecovered espresso bean. It opens with slightly stiff tannins that back off to showcase raspberry, Mission fig, milk-chocolate and butterscotch flavors. The finish is marked with pleasant notes of orange zest and vanilla.

Estate
Bodegas Emilio Moro is one of the oldest leading quality producers in Ribera del Duero. For four generations the Emilio Moro family has carefully farmed their 500 acres of estate vineyards located between 2,400 to 3,000 feet of elevation. The estates legendary Finca Resalso vineyard was planted the year Emilio Moro was born in 1932. The vineyards deep, cool soil is home to some of the winery’s oldest Tempranillo (Tinto Fino) bush vines and is the birthplace of their great single-estate wine Malleolus de Valderramiro. With excellent ripening conditions, these special plots provide tannic wines with a marked acidity and are ideal for ageing.
