Estate
Bodegas Luzon are the masters of Monastrell (Mourvedre). Located in the historic region of Jumilla in southeastern Spain, this iconic region is celebrated for its beautifully expressive wines. Discover the impressive range and diversity of Bodegas Luzon.
Tasting notes
Monastrell and Syrah is a truly unique blend, with the marriage producing a beautiful, deep cherry colour. Its aromas are expressive and intense, with fragrance of black fruits, mineral notes and spices such as black pepper. On the palate it is succulent, with a balanced freshness of great character and typicality. Serve at a temperature between 14 to 16 degrees Celcius.
Vinification
Following alcoholic fermentation in 500 It barrels, bunches are carefully selected before being transferred to new French and American oak barrels. This is where the malolactic fermentation takes place.
History
In Altos de Luzon, we pay homage to the special character of Jumilla land. Its harsh climate and average altitude of 650 metres bring about dry and rugged conditions. In these lands, the Monastrell grape finds its inspiration and its reason for being. This is where it excels and performs at its optimal level. Jumilla's wine-growing history, like its people, is defined by this landscape: on the outside rough and hardy, but inside full of beauty and riches.
