Tasting notes

Clean, crisp and aromatic with lemon grass, tropical fruit and honeysuckle notes. Our Sauvignon Blanc is flavorful and quite refreshing with rich, lingering layers of citrus, honeydew melon and pineapple.The lasting finish and mild acidity combine for a distinctive tasting experience.

VIneyard

Sauvignon Blanc grown in Dry CreekValley has a reputation for creating a wine with distinct characteristics and is considered one of the appellation's hallmark wines. East Side refers to our estate vineyard planted along Dry Creek as well as one other grower just a mile or two north of us. The vineyard microclimate combines sun, soil and fog to retain ripe fruit and crisp flavor and our open trellising system allows for maximum sun exposure. Add these components to the special care from our vineyard crew and the resulting wine is a great reflection of these vineyards.The near-perfect growing conditions in 20 12 brought mild acidity and high­ lighted the tropical fruit characteristics.

Winemaking

The grapes were harvested during the first two weeks in September, crushed, and gently pressed into temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks.The juice was cold-fermented at 55 degrees to slow fermenta­ tion and to retain delicate varietal nuances.The wine was bottled a few months after harvest without oak aging or malo-lactic fermentation. We continue to produce a Sauvignon Blanc which captures the freshness and showcases the luscious Dry Creek Valley fruit.
