Lastly, the 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon Howell Mountain Signature Series comes from the Las Posadas Vineyard on Howell Mountain and was raised 23 months in new barrels. As with the Oakville release, there's just about none of this available, with just 50 cases produced, but wow, what a wine. Pure black fruits (currants, cassis), smoked tobacco, lead pencil/graphite, crushed stone, and bouquet garni notes define the aromatics, and it's massively concentrated, with a dense, stacked mid-palate, laser-like precision, and building, ripe tannins. I certainly can't see how this beauty could be any better it's as good as any wine out there and stunning in every sense of the word.
