Product Ratings
Int'l Wine Report 93pt

Aged for 10 months in French oak barrels, with 40% being new, it displays a gorgeous glistening ruby color in the glass. Aromas of bright red cherry, fresh black raspberry, dried mint, and powdered graphite, alongside light ground coffee notes, produce a gorgeous nose that is expressive and vibrant. Acidity checks in on the high side, while the palate is rounded and broad.

James Suckling 94pt

This has aromas of dried cranberries, blueberries, tea leaves, slate, sweet spices and lemon rind. Sleek, well-integrated tannins, with tight, savory layers. Cool and mineral at the end. Delicious already, but better from 2023.

by James Suckling, 2022
Wine Advocate 95pt

The 2021 Pinot Noir Latchkey Vineyard has very pretty scents of cranberry and raspberry preserves, cola, lavender, Earl Grey tea leaves and aniseed. The light-bodied palate has notably concentrated berry flavors, a pleasing touch of astringency, fireworks of fresh acidity and a long, perfumed finish.

by Wine Advocate, 2023
Wine Spectator 93pt

Fresh and vibrant, with elegantly layered raspberry, violet and spiced cinnamon flavors that glide agilely toward polished tannins.

Vintage

The 2016 vintage had a warm spring with record-breaking heat units in April and May. This transitioned us into the earliest harvest date on record. Lower elevation Dundee Hills started to pick the end of the second week of August, and our last fruit was in the door September 16th. The summer wasn’t overly warm, though just warm enough to keep the vines moving forward, developing into a beautiful growing season and harvest. I think you will see the wines balanced and rich in a traditional Purple Hands Style.
