Decanter 93pt

The West Wind Vineyard is an east-facing Purple Hands estate site planted in 2017 in the Ribbon Ridge AVA. These vines on the younger side are producing a compelling wine driven by tart cranberries, dried orange zest and mint. The palate is lean and angular with bright red fruits, a dusty minerality and savoury dried anise delivering the finish.

Jeb Dunnuck 95pt

A youthful red hue, the 2022 Pinot Noir West Wind Vineyard is lifted with aromas of wild, crunchy mixed berries, dark stones, peppery spice, and pine needles. Medium bodied, it has a linear feel, with ripe tannins and energetic acidity driving through the finish. A lovely wine, it's going to age with ease over the next 10 years.

James Suckling 92pt

Notes of red berries, spices, dried flowers and wet stone on the nose. Dry and chalky with a dusty texture to its tannins and a medium body. Juicy and savory with a refreshing finish. Drink now or hold.

This is a powerfully aromatic wine, with boysenberry sorbet, violets in potting soil and bittersweet dark chocolate scents filling the air. Acidity that's an eight on a scale of one to ten lights up black raspberry, cashew, thyme and brown sugar flavors. I will follow the West Wind anywhere. I hope it takes me to a plate of beef cheeks.
