Spending 10 months in 40% new French oak barrels, the 2021 West Wind Vineyard Pinot comes from clones of Pommard, 115, and 777. A medium-dark ruby core with a neon pink rim in the glass. Stunningly good on the nose - think notes of wild huckleberry, black cherry preserves, toasty baking spice, pine nuts, and walnut shells. The palate is much leaner in nature, with elevated acidity taking center stage and grippy tannins playing second.

A bright, medium-bodied pinot with aromas of dried roses, oyster shells, kelp, mulberries and cranberries. I like the savory moss and shell elements. Tight, powdery tannins.

Youthful and feisty, with a keen beam of bright acidity driving tart cherry, green tea and spices that zip toward snappy tannins.
