Tasting Panel 91pt

Housed in a pretty bottle meant to resemble crocodile skin, this blend of 50% Grenache and 50% Syrah is stony and bright with vivid notes of nectarine, raspberry, vanilla, and cantaloupe. A touch of salinity adds to the fresh finish.

Description

Naturally elegant and refined, Crocodile Dandy is the new concept wine from Joseph Castan to blend the respect for the ancestral culture of South of France with the elegance and refinement of wine from Costières de Nîmes. Costieres de Nimes is the most southerly appellation of the Rhone wine region in southeastern France. The vines lie at a crossroads of the Mediterranean warmth of the South and cool mistral winds from North. The round stones typical of the Rhone valley’s soil capture the sun’s heat during the cold nights and reflect the warmth back to the vines which improved ripeness and quality.

Tasting notes

The Crocodile Dandy Rosé reveals a pale pink hue with bluish tints. The nose is complex, opening with delectable notes of wild strawberries, raspberries and white flowers. The palate is smooth and well-balanced with lovely raspberry notes. Pairs perfectly with Caesar salad and grilled fish. 50% Syrah & 50% Grenache
