Tasting notes
A very approachable Chardonnay that's well-rounded in flavors of white peach, green apple, ripe pear and spice notes. The palate is lively and the finish is pretty and harmonious. Serve as an aperitif and also makes the perfect match for fish or seafood as well as white meat and pasta in a creamy sauce.
Description
Since 1983, the Dutoit family has provided M. Touton with exceptional wines from the Pouilly-Fuissé region. This is the source of some of the most sought-after white wines in Burgundy. Produced exclusively from old vine Chardonnay grapes, they tend to be slightly richer in style than wines from further north due to its warmer weather. These wines show great versatility; they can be enjoyed young and can also improve with a little time in the cellar. The wines from Pouilly-Fuissé are considered some of the best values for white Burgundy. These wines are priced to move!
Food pairing
Blends elegantly with meat and fish with a noble and
beautiful texture (veal or chicken in white sauce, roasted
sea bass, but also foie gras) or grilled seafood and
sauce (shrimp, lobster). Delicious as an aperitif and
with cheeses with a light taste (Camembert, Brie, Blue
cheese, Goat cheese, Gruyere).
Vinification
Grown in limestone and clay soils, this Chardonnay goes through a traditional Burgundian vinification. The grapes are
pressed immediately upon arrival at the winery in
pneumatic presses. Fermentation is carried out in
thermo-regulated stainless steel tanks at 16°C.
