Description

This melty, velvety and dense red wine is impressive and complex on the palate. Due to the moderate fruit acidity, Quercegobbe Tuscany flatters the palate with a velvety feeling without letting it miss freshness at the same time. In the finish, this red wine from the wine-growing region finally inspires Tuscany with considerable length. There are again echoes of shadow morals and raisins. In the reverberation, mineral notes of the soils dominated by sand and clay are added

Estate

Petra is an ambitious project headed by father and daughter team Vittorio and Fancesca Moretti. At Petra the world-class architect went beyond designing an impressive wine cellar, but also included the outlay of the vineyards in his aim to form a contemporary agricultural landscape. The Moretti's are also the owners of renowned Fanciacorta wineries Bellavista and Contadi Castaldi. The estate and winery are located in Suvereto within Maremma, Tuscany.

Vinification

Grapes from the Merlot grape variety form the basis for the powerful Quercegobbe Tuscany from Tuscany. The grapes grow under optimal conditions in Tuscany. Here the vines dig their roots deep into soils of sand, limestone, clay and marl. Obviously, the Quercegobbe Toscana is also determined by climatic and stylistic factors Toscana IGT. In the best sense of the word, this Italian can be described as wine of the Old World, which presents itself extremely complex. The development of the harvested material for this Merlot wine is influenced to a considerable extent by the climate of the growing region. In Tuscany, the grapes thrive in a warm climate, which is reflected, among other things, in particularly well-ripened grapes and a rather high must weight. After harvesting, the grapes quickly reach the press house. Here they are selected and carefully ground. This is followed by fermentation in large wood at controlled temperatures. After its end, Quercegobbe Toscana is aged for 36 months in oak barrels. The ageing in the wooden barrel is followed by a comprehensive bottle maturity, which makes this red wine even more complex.
