Estate
Bodegas Emilio Moro is one of the oldest leading quality producers in Ribera del Duero. For four generations the Emilio Moro family has carefully farmed their 500 acres of estate vineyards located between 2,400 to 3,000 feet of elevation. The estates legendary Finca Resalso vineyard was planted the year Emilio Moro was born in 1932. The vineyards deep, cool soil is home to some of the winery’s oldest Tempranillo (Tinto Fino) bush vines and is the birthplace of their great single-estate wine Malleolus de Valderramiro. With excellent ripening conditions, these special plots provide tannic wines with a marked acidity and are ideal for ageing.
Tasting notes
Intense and expressive bouquet, with a range of black fruits, blackberries
and blueberries at their peak of ripeness. As it evolves in the glass,
nuances of complexity, balsamic spices and liquorice appear. On the
palate it is fleshy and structured, with ripe, silky tannins that add volume
and length to the mouthfeel.
Vinification
Fermented at a controlled temperature in stainless-steel tanks and
aged in French oak barrels.
