Int'l Wine Report 96pt

The 2021 Oakville Cabernet Sauvignon is comprised from a barrel selection from three Oakville vineyards; Tench Vineyard, which is situated on the East Oakville Bench, Double H Ranch, that sits on the Western Hillsides, and Renteria 360 Vineyard, located in the Northeastern Section. The wine itself is sublime, as it immediately stands out for its outstanding combination of ripe dark/blue fruits and savory characteristics that work together in perfect harmony. It begins with wonderful aromas of dark berries, blueberries, savory herbs, sweet spices, fresh loam, graphite and hints of Sumatran coffee nuances that all burst from the glass. On the palate this is full-bodied, voluptuous, and structured with gorgeous round polished tannins that make for a plush mouthfeel that is irresistible. It continues to impress with its excellent overall depth and concentration, as rich luxurious layers are laced with flavors of dark fruits, blueberries, loam, graphite and sweet spices which all build up to the long seamless finish. This is utterly delicious and will be accessible on release.

Wine Advocate 92+pt

Bottled just one week before I tasted it, the 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon Oakville was showing rather well, with gentle floral and sage nuances set against a backdrop of rich loam and black cherries. Yes, it's still a bit tight, but this medium to full-bodied effort boasts silky tannins and a long finish. Don't overlook it because it isn't vineyard-designated.

James Suckling 95pt

A very firm and polished red with currants, chocolate and salted almonds. Terra-cotta. Medium body. Juicy and flavorful with extremely polished tannins. Very creamy textured.

Vinous Media 92pt

The 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon (Oakville) is a big, full-bodied wine that will delight readers who enjoy the more overt side of Napa Valley Cabernet. Tobacco, spice, leather, chocolate, licorice and savory tones are front and center. A dollop of Petit Verdot from Tench adds darkness.
