Founded in 2014, Unwritten is a St Helena based boutique winery dedicated to making a complex yet elegant Cabernet Sauvignon, made by the acclaimed winemaker, Mark Porembski, known in Napa Valley for his beautiful portfolio of wines (Anomaly Vineyards, Zeitgeist Cellars). Superb sourcing and careful selection work hand in hand to create an extraordinary wine that seduces the palate both today and 20 years from now. With its first two vintages sold out in a matter of days, Unwritten is turning heads and pleasing palettes in the wine industry. Produced from 100% Cabernet Sauvignon from Napa Valley top sites to include Oakville Station (adjacent to To Kalon in Oakville}, Lewelling Ranch in St Helena and a small amount of Cabernet from Howell Mountain. Unwritten was founded on the principal “the truth is in the wine not the words”.

This vintage in Napa Valley was exquisite. Lower yields and a gorgeous growing season made for wines that are intense and opulent. 2019 Cabernet Sauvignons have the stuffing to age indefinitely but also the fruit and polish to fall in love with now. The 2019 is the boldest vintage of Unwritten Cabernet Sauvignon to date. It is a wave of sensation as you take in the aromas of plum, boysenberry, baking spice and jasmine. A rich and smooth entry leads to heady notes of licorice, matcha, and mahogany. The flow of the wine is both complex and plush. Dusty, almost ethereal, tannins evolve as the wine rolls over your palate, becoming finely pointed accents of wild blackberry flavor.
